Fitting Bib Shorts and Tights

  • Fitting bibs is tricky because your leg, bottom, height and belly size will ALL affect the final fit
  • Measure your belly at its largest point and use our size guide
  • It may take trying on 2 or 3 sizes to get the right size
  • If you need help with our size guide email us with your measurements
  • The Ey Up Bib Shorts have marginally more stretch than the Jewel but you will only notice if you are on the cusp of two sizes
  • Bibs should fit snug to the body without excess fabric around the crotch, thighs or bottom
  • Adopt cycling position (arms out stretched, legs bent) to feel how they fit across the shoulders, back and thigh
  • If you are between sizes it's usually best to go down a size
  • If you have a very large belly you may need to go down one or more sizes to fit the pad correctly. This can cause excess pressure on the belly area stitching, however if the stitching cracks it’s easily mended by your local repair shop and will not affect the shorts
  • Our Gear is tall and we work on a 6'+ (183cm+) frame but this doesn’t mean we can’t fit shorter people. We have customers who are 5’5” and 6’7”
  • Just email us with your measurements and height for help

Troubleshooting Bib Fit

How your bibs fit when you're standing in front of the mirror is not how they will fit on a bike so you must adopt a cycling position when you try on

  • Excess fabric on the crotch, thighs or bottom - go down at least one size
  • Legs are flappy - go down at least one size
  • Pad is not snug to the body - go down at least one size
  • Shorts fit on the torso but are baggy elsewhere - go down at least one size. This may mean that the belly fabric has to stretch a lot (see above) but you need to get the pad in the right place for them to work
  • Shorts are see through in cycling position - they are too small, go up a size
  • Bib is too tight across the shoulders or torso – go up a size
  • If you are unsure about the fit send us some photos of  wearing the bibs and we can help – don’t worry your photos are safe with us and there is nothing we haven’t seen before

What If I'm tall

Our tights are longer than most brands and we work on a 6’+ (183cm+) frame

Because the fabrics we use stretch in all directions, leg width and bottom size will affect the leg length as much as height and waist size

  • If you are over 6’4” (1.93cm) and have very long or very chunky legs you will probably need to go up a size
  • Over 6’6” (1.98cm) you may need to go up 2 sizes
  • Our Jewel bib shorts are longer than our Ey Ups
  • If you need help just drop us an email with your height, chest, build, waist and inside leg length

What If I'm short

Our tights are longer than most brands and we work on a 6’+ (183cm+) frame however we can usually still fit our shorter customers

Because the fabrics we use stretch in all directions, leg width and bottom size will affect the leg length as much as height and waist size

  • If you are under 5’10” (178cm) and have short or very slim legs you will probably need to go down at least a size. This can cause excess pressure on the belly area stitching, however if the stitching cracks it’s easily mended by your local repair shop and will not affect the shorts
  • Our Ey Up Bib Shorts are shorter than our Jewels
  • If you need help just drop us an email with your height, chest, build, waist and inside leg length

Inside Leg Measurements

READ THIS, then email us with your height, waist and chest measurement and your overall build

Items which use stretch fabrics don’t have an inside leg measurement because your torso, leg and bottom size will also affect the finished leg length

So, if your legs and bum are chunky, this 'shortens' the garment leg length, similarly if you have a skinny bum and legs, this 'lengthens' the leg length

Two people of the same size and height, one with skinny legs and one with chunky legs will get different inseam measurements from the same item

This is why the inseam measurement CAN NOT be relied upon as an indicator for the final length, nevertheless here it is, because lots of you ask for it!

*Approx measurement from centre pad to hem

  • Ey Up Bib Shorts - 25cm*
  • Jewel Bib Shorts -  28cm*
  • Jewel and Champion Bib Tights - 75cm*
