Dispatch Times 

In stock goods are usually dispatched within 1-2 working days. If you require your garment urgently please email us at fatlads@fatladattheback.com and we will try to expedite your order. 

 

UK Delivery 

We dispatch to all UK addresses via DPD courier £5.90 delivery Mon to Fri (excluding bank holidays)

 

Availability 

All items are subject to availability. Items are usually dispatched to you within 1-2 working days. Items ordered on backorded will be despatched to you within 2-4 weeks unless otherwise stated. Please contact us for more information.

 

Confirmation and Acceptance of an Order 

When we receive your order we will email you to let you know and to tell you that our fat lads are working on getting your stuff to you as soon as possible. 

If for some reason we cannot fulfil your order we will contact you by email or telephone (if provided) to advise you accordingly.

Our acceptance of your order will be automatically undertaken upon dispatch of the goods to your given delivery address.

We reserve the right to refuse your order.

 

Description Of Goods And Accuracy Of Our Website 

We endeavour to give a thorough and detailed description of all our items together with photographs. Please don’t hesitate to ask us if you require any more information about a product.

The final cost of your order is the total sum of the cost of goods being purchased by you plus the delivery / postal costs as provided in the delivery section of this website.

 

Pilling/Bobbling and Snagging 

The fabrics we use for our sportswear are produced in Italy by some of the world’s top technical fabric manufacturers. As such they have each been rigorously and thoroughly tested for their suitability and durability. We are therefore VERY confident that you will not experience a fabric fault. 

We use Dupont LYCRA® in our shorts and women's trousers. This the market leader for this type of fabric. It has been used in clothing for decades and has been extensively tested and is hard wearing, HOWEVER you must take care with your garments as they can easily snag or pil if they come into contact with sharp or rough objects. 

If your garment shows signs of isolated rubbing, snagging or piling (bobbling) this is most likely due to it rubbing on something sharp or rough, or catching on part of your bike, clothing or another sharp object. 

Please check your bike for saddle studs, wires, velcro, seat bags, mud guards etc. Ensure that you do not sit on rough or splintered seating, take care with the under side of wooden picnic tables and and ensure that the zips and velcro fastenings of the other garments you wear do not rub and cause damage.

Pilling and snagging of this type is not a fabric/garment fault.

 

Returns and Exchanges 

If you need to exchange your item just return it to us unworn/unused and in its original packaging with tags attached, together with the returns slip that’s with your order and we will send out a replacement item.

If the item you require is not available we will contact you to ask you whether you want a refund or to swap to a different item, if there is an alternative available.

Much as we are sure you will love your Fat Lad At The Back purchase there may be a reason that you decide it’s not for you. It’s OK we won’t be cross. Just return it to us unworn/unused and in its original packaging, together with the returns slip that’s with your order and within 14 days of receipt and you’ll hear no more about it, other than a confirmation email to say ‘we got it’ and a refund of your hand earned cash. 

We have extended the returns terms over the festive season, we are accepting returns from orders placed in Nov/Dec up until the 14th January.

We can only accept returns and exchanges which have been purchased directly from Fat Lad At The Back. If you have purchased a garment from another retailer, please return the garment to them.

Return postage costs are at the expense of the customer. We recommend that you use a recorded or signed for delivery for your item and retain the proof of postage, as lost parcels cannot be refunded.

Please allow 14 days for returns and exchanges to be processed, if you have any queries about your return please email us at fatlads@fatladattheback.com with your order number and return tracking information. 

Refunds can take several days to be processed by PayPal and your bank or card supplier, therefore it may take more than 14 days for the refund to appear in your account. 

If you do not have the original documentation which came with your order, simply print off your order confirmation and add a note explaining what you would like to do and enclose this with your item.

We do not refund customers postage or delivery costs.

 

International Delivery 

International delivery costs are charged at cost for all locations. Your order will be despatched by the most cost effective and secure method available at the time.

Customers are responsible for any customs or import charges made in their recipient country. VAT will be credited for all non EU orders. All orders (including overseas orders) will be refunded in Sterling and we cannot be held responsible for any fluctuations in exchange rates and any loss of currency as a result.

 

Please note we can not accept responsibility for items dispatched to you if you give us the wrong address at the time of ordering, although we will do our best to change the delivery address details if you inform us of the error before the package is dispatched.

Your parcel may be dispatched several hours prior to our system being updated and the status of your order being changed to completed.

Cancellations 

If you change your mind you can cancel your order before it is despatched, but please email us immediately.

The information you provide when you order from us is used to process your order, payment, returns and refunds and for dealing with accounts. Your telephone number allows us to contact you urgently if there is a problem with your order.We use a secure server and encryption software to protect the information you enter and to prevent it from being intercepted before it gets to our website. Under the Data Protection Act 1998, we follow strict procedures to ensure that your information is kept safe.

Our cookies don’t contain personal information and are used to help make your experience on our website more simple and enjoyable.

The only people who see the information we hold about you are those who need access to it for the performance of their job. We use full login and password controls on our system. Confidentiality and database access controls are reviewed periodically and updated as required to further protect our personal data.

We know that payment security is a major concern to customers and this is why we use PayPal as our payment gateway. Fat Lad At The Back does not capture or hold any credit card information from any of our customers whether you pay us by bank transfer or through PayPal, all credit card is dealt with directly between you and the banks. This does mean you have to give your card details every time you place an order with us but this minor inconvenience does ensure that it is totally safe to shop with Fat Lad At The Back. You should contact PayPal or your bank immediately if you think that your PayPal account or card has been used without your permission.

Fat Lad At The Back does not pass your email address onto any third parties for marketing purposes. From time to time we may email you with offers or to launch new products. If you wish to opt-out of offers and promotions let us know at fatlads@fatladattheback.com

 

Sizes 

Our garment sizes are displayed on our website in inches. There is a 1cm tolerance. For best results get someone to measure you prior to ordering and do not rely on the sizes printed in other garments that you have purchased. Please see our size guide for more information.

 

About our Products 

Our *sportswear is handmade in Italy, in a small family run factory, which has been making sportswear for over 35 years. With access to the latest Italian technical fabrics and a wealth of knowledge about their industry, it’s no surprise that they manufacture for some of the best names (including Fat Lad At The Back, of course) in the business.

*Our Bamboo T shirts are made in Turkey and printed in the UK, our socks are knitted by machine and made in Italy.

 

Garment Testing 

Our garments are thoroughly tested by a variety of Fat Lads and Fat Lasses and are constantly evolving based on their feedback and that of our customers. 

 

Faulty Goods 

Occasionally, it has been known for something to be not quite right, not up to scratch or not tickety boo. If you consider your garments to have a fabric or manufacturing fault we need to know about it as soon as possible. In the first instance, please drop us an email to fatlads@fatladattheback.com with your order number and photo’s of your garment.

We may need to see your garment and you will have to send it to our office. We will refund the postage at our discretion and only if we consider that your garment has a genuine fault. We will refund or replace garments if we consider them to be faulty. Please see Pilling/Bobbling and Snagging below.

WE DO NOT OFFER A LAUNDRY SERVICE AND WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY RETURNED GARMENTS, WHATEVER THE CIRCUMSTANCES, WHICH ARRIVE SOILED AND DIRTY.

 

Washing and Care Instructions 

Avoid snagging by ensuring that jersey and jacket zips are fastened and that your garments are not washed with other items which have zips, sharp trims or Velcro.

Check your bike for saddle studs, wires, velcro, seat bags, mud guards and anything else with sharp or rough edges, as these can cause damage to your garments.  

Ensure that you do not sit on rough or splintered seating, take care with the under side of wooden picnic tables and and

Ensure that the zips and velcro fastenings of the other garments which you wear, do not rub and cause damage

  • Our garments can be machine washed at 30°C

  • Line dry

  • DO NOT tumble dry

  • DO NOT dry items with reflective transfers and logos on radiators - the heat source will cause damage to the transfer.

  • DO NOT use fabric conditioner -  it can reduce the performance of some of the technical fabrics we use.

 

Sometimes Things go Wrong! 

Although our Fat Lads always try to do their best, they do make mistakes (they can be distracted, especially when they are hungry).

Please get in touch with us, quoting your order number and we will do what we can to put it right.
